She turned 3.

Story has been in love with trains since we moved back to Japan…. When riding in the car she dodges her eyes from one window to the next, spotting them out as they move down the tracks, “Look Mom! A Twaiiin!!” The excitement in her voice is palpable… She notes the colors and how fast its moving, and has told us every time how she wants to ride the rails…

Im so sad to say it only took us a little over a year to get her on one…. I know, WOMP WOMP MOM! But its a bit different here in Sasebo then when we lived in Yokosuka and took the train everywhere! Its easier and way cheaper to just drive everywhere for our large family! Excuses aside, I won’t make that mistake again…. Her experience was so sweet…

Huis Ten Bosch is a Netherlands style theme park directly next to our neighborhood…. And their train station is a bit special <3

We took the 20 minute or so walk on a gorgeous sunny day down to the station, where Story jumped and ran and danced the whole way! She couldn’t wait to see what color train we would ride on! We got BLUE ;) We took a quick ride downtown to grab a late lunch and hang at her favorite park….
