An Evening at Itoshima... Summer Vibes

There is nothing in this whole world more beautiful to me then just watching my kids… But then you add a coastline and golden hour, and something magical happens…

We are a family drawn to water… Husband even told me one time that he thinks he was a pirate in another life… Tea’s 8th Birthday wish this year was to be a Mermaid… Story just found her courage with the tides… And Madi and Rye have been brought up this far by a Mama who prefers being barefoot in the sand over all other places, so they are right at home on the beach.

Rainy Season has come late this year, which isn’t bothering me one bit… It made for a longer Spring where we enjoyed cooler temps for exploring, and spending our first couple weeks of the Summer Season taking day trips around Kyushu… This particular drive being out to one of my favorite beaches in Itoshima… Here you can gaze through a beautiful white Tori Gate, past the Wedding Rocks, and out to the Genkai Sea… We ate a picnic dinner of hummus quesadillas and quinoa salad and sliced apples with lemon, splashed in the shallows of crystal clear water, searched for sea stones of all colors, climbed on the rocks, and watched the sunset in a hazy sky. Just Magic.

I don’t always bring my camera to the beach, but on this day my golly I am thankful… Preserving the images and memories in my head, to share with Husband while he is at Sea, and our family back home means so much to me… These days are just so special… <3

When Big Brother teaches you how to do a Mermaid Hair Flip!!! hahaha Made her whole day… <3

Till next time… xoxo
