Birdy in the WildFlowers

This little girl of mine...

We always joke in our home that she is enough child for anyone to handle...

But here's the truth. She is incredible. She is bold and stubborn, creative and brilliant... She sees all of the colors in this world, the beauty, the pain. She marches to the rock of her own rhythm... She is kind when treated with kindness, and fights hellfire with hellfire...

There are times when we are beside ourselves, we just dont know how she absorbs everyday life and how her little brain works... We cant feel the way electricity moves through her body, how sounds can seem to be screams, how the fear of the unknown puts her in an uncontrollable panic. All we can do is be there to hold her hand, make her little world seem as safe as we can, sympathize and educate ourselves.

She is hypersensitive. She is emotionally gifted. She is Teagan.

This week we are saying farewell to our last Florida Summer, THANK GOODNESS! But one thing I will miss from the little neighborhood in which we have called home for the last 3 years are the open fields... The overgrown old golf course that fills with waist high grass and iris and daisies. Wildflowers seem to find a home here most of the year..

There is just something magic about seeing her at ease among the flowers.... The way she connects with nature... She shows me every little bud and weed, "Mom, smell this one! Its sweet..."

Every little moment is so special... sometimes crazy and infuriating, but she teaches me patience like no other... She teaches me how to nurture in a different way then my other children need...

Teagan, my darling, my Birdy, may you always twirl, always create, always stay true to you, and always dance among the flowers....
