Hand-Crafted.

Just about anything made with a persons hands is dear to me. I whole heartedly support the Artisans, the Makers, the Small Shops, and respect the amount of work and creativity they put into their pieces.

I think I have had a pull towards textiles since childhood, but it wasn't until I had children of my own that the desire to create things with them sprung to life... Over the years I have learned to make them Winter wear and Spring dresses, toys and blankets… The way they get giddy when a new “Lovely” is finished makes my mama heart soar. Something to be cherished by the ones I adore most.

I love to knit and crochet, I find it very therapeutic.. The repetitive stitching and the softness of the strands of cotton or wool running through my fingers... I can almost get into a mediative state working on a blanket or sweater or hat.

I love to sew. Fabrics are so diverse, colors and prints and textures... I have learned to dye with plants— berries and teas and acorns and onion skins and flowers, and that love is growing more wild by the day...This is a new creative process for me but the results are so earthy and diverse. Its like a surprise since you never know how a shade will turn out!

I keep the textiles NATURAL, using ethically produced//fair trade materials supporting Small Shops...

Making dye baths and playing with textiles has become a craving. I itch to find time to get into my studio and mend fabric together into a creation! Although Quilting is the newest art-form I am learning, I am growing with every strip I piece together. Using dyed linen and organic cottons and Sheshiko hand stitching, along with small prints or vintage finds... A slow process with completely unique results.

To those of you who have followed me since my days of a “Mad-Hatter” with JBI and Lewey’s Nest, to my new friends, WELCOME! I hope you stick around as I continue to move forward on this Journey…
