Shenandoah National Park- The next stop on our Gals Trip!
A place I will keep coming back to.
Golly, the cool air, the flora, the fauna… The quiet. Our time here was short- a drive out from GSMNT, through the lower Appalachians, into Cherokee for some street strolling, up Skyline Drive- a waterfall hike, pull-offs for the views of rolling hills, and greetings from so many Deer- We camped the night at Big Meadows, a view through the trees of Mountains pained lavender off our site… We toasted more marsh mellows, hiked the grounds, read books, and camped under the stars, with the deer nestled under trees and in the tall grass all around us… It was just a magical night of “roughing it!”
These nights tucked into the old tent have become so comfortable, so refreshing in a way—- I was honestly unsure as to how this trip would go when we set off, but at this point, it couldn’t have been any more perfect…. Total heart swell-
