Madi’s Newest Creation.
Welp, its been 7 weeks so far of quarantine…. Things are lifting slowly in our area, a couple of parks and a mountain where we can hike… We also welcomed Dad back home, his ship stayed an extra month+ at sea due to the virus, But the biggest YEY we have had in so long….
All in all, we are happy, healthy, together… We are in a very very good situation in southern Japan where our base has done everything I feel in its power to keep Covid Clear—- Our families back home are safe and sound as well, we are grateful every single day for this. The kids have been homeschool and virtual schooling, and all of them have been tapping into creative projects—- Dear Madi Paige, well she is still making masks. This really had nothing to do with the virus, as she had started on it just prior to the chaos, but finished it up a few weeks ago, and she is pretty proud… Embrace your childrens’ weirdness folks! If they dive into it, they will become incredible and creative souls who shine and follow their passions! This girl is figuring out that she really has an interest in costume design… She loves making masks and Halloween costumes, watches endless videos of monster makers and mask and puppet artists, and her drawing style has always been a bit “dark”. I can totally see her growing in this world of creepy! She loves it…
She made this mask with a poster//cardboard base, and some scrap fabric from my stash… She up-cycled a shoe box for the plastic on the eyes, and hand stitched the criss cross boarder… Im so impressed watching her make these structures!
We are now a society of mask wearing individuals… Although none of us are going to be walking around in 14th century plague doc wear, and we hope to never ever see the devastation of history, we are in a pandemic, with its own heart wrenching numbers and its scary. We see changes everyday from the town where we live to around the world, but the end of this is not in sight…
From our family to yours, we hope you are Healthy and Safe. We hope you find comfort in your home, are adapting well to the changes in your lives….
So much love- xoxo
