Mini-Moon... Zion: Day 2
Can I just say, it is soooooo amazing waking up in Utah. I feel head over damn heals!
The air was SUPER cold, like 34 degrees, which was a beautiful contrast to the sweltering Gulf Coast Temps we were already having in May! Snuggled up, tent heater on, coffee and itenerary check list—- haha real romantic, but it is, in our way!
6am, on the Road….. Heading south-bound: Kanab.
Our first stop was a detour down a long road to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes … We were there super early, just to walk around and check it out- The area is known for UTV Tours, and I can see why! Looks like so much fun, maybe another time…. ;)
From there, we continued on to Kanab! We both wanted to explore more then just the big attractions of Zion, and Im so so happy we did! No Crowds. At all. Its having little spaces of Nature to yourself—- peaceful and soulful.
ToadStool Hoodoos Aw man, this place… Wind erosion shapes these rock formations like mushrooms! There are crevasses and holes through the rock, layers upon layers of color that change with the clouds, sun, and time of day…. Its like magic!
Each of us brought one of Harvey’s bandanas…. we always thought our boy would make it to a big National Park with us… he was in our hearts the whole time <3
Annnnnd we got naked! I wanted a photo in the Desert, and I’m just so glad he is always GAME! hehe
Still cold, but warming up!
After our jaunt around the Hoodoos, we headed back into town for some lunch and more groceries for the long drive out to Bryce Canyon!!!
We did the Queens Garden and Navajo Loop Trail, including Wall Street (a favorite part for me!) starting at Sunset Point … Tip: go backwards so you hit Wall Street Last! You will thank us later <3
Kinda kicking myself for not getting any photos of where we stayed! But hey, I’ll say it again… Utah is somewhere you just have to come and experience—- Its so hard to try and document when you’re just in awe… We made dinner at the Tent, sat by the fire, watched the sunset change the colors of the land with a glass of wine. Perfection!
Next up, we actually make it into the Park! And it was incredible…… Till then-xoxo
