Last Days of Summer//Back to Homeschool

These last days of August- just magic.

Yesterday morning, the girls and I stepped out early, just as the sun was coming up, and could feel Autumn in the wind- there was a crisp we havent felt in so long, a freshness we have longed for. Throwing on flip flops and grabbing bikes, we took advantage of this change in the weather- Put school on the morning back-burner, and cruised around the neighborhood…. every little piece of nature around us seemed to be uplifted by the break in the heat- The birds were in their loudest song, mount etna was clear as day in the distance (having lost her sheild of hot haze), the dandilions and trees swayed toward the sky- like i said, magic.

Our Homeschool Year Wrap Up- 2022-23

we made it through another year, our third, and it was beautiful….

If Im being honest, continuing to Homeschool was not the plan… We had every intention of our children returning to Brick and Mortar Walls, for myself to join them in being involved as a Substitute and PTA Member and Volunteer- however, things change. Life happens, and with children, you just have to surrender to the days as they unfold.

Apple Cinnamon Ghost Pies- Welcome September!

For ‘Schooling’ today, the girls and I did a little Halloween decor prep- We cleaned up the porch, pulled out our Autumn Box of odds and ends, planned out some crafts and costumes, listened to music while planting more rosemary and thyme out back, and made these cute little Hand Pies!

De-schooling Art Project! A Visualization for the Year to come.

I was recently listening to one of the Wild + Free Co Podcast episodes where a Mama spoke about starting the “school” year off with a Visualization project- She mentioned her family does a poster board collage at the end of the Summer, and she asks her children to create a picture, any way they want, to show what they envision the next year to look like- Well, I loved this idea…..

Re-Exploring our Homeschool Path- This is our Journey

Yesterday we took a moment….

These past couple of weeks we made the hard and solid decision, that for at least the foreseeable future, I will be Homeschooling the Girls… This has brought so much lightness to my shoulders, and my heart, I think as well as Dear Birdy and Bean. Iv said it in an IG post recently, but it really does feel like we are coming HOME.
