Koa Skate Park--- My Girls.
What up???!!!
So Madi has been bugging me for a minute to head down to Nagasaki to hit a skatepark Iv been telling her about…. She has been weaning herself back into her skates, in hopes of joining a Derby league when we move! Its been almost 6 years since she skated with a team, and man is she ready to dive back in!
One of her Gal Pals here also loves skating, so a couple weeks ago we loaded some vans, a ton of kids, dog, and headed down to Koa Skate Park—- I know this park a little since doing a SUPER fun photo shoot down there about 2 years ago! Right on the water, mountain views, a bit of graffiti, and well, since we are here in Japan, RAIN. That didnt stop any of our crew tho… We had the park to ourselves, so the girls took over! I love seeing my eldest in her element, and a BFF by her side was just so great!
Tea also showed her little dare-devil self, running to the tops of the ramps, skateboard in hand… She scootered around, zoomed through puddles, barefoot and wild. Story joined in with water splashing and telling her tales, dancing in the rain.
While there we had a little visit from our local Japanese Police, they couldnt have been nicer! Just came to chat, find out where we were from, and watch the kids having fun for a second….
Im so happy I got some fun shots throughout our time spent, I know Madi will cherish these when Dear Bella moves—- But Im absolutely sure their friendship will carry on! Her crew of girls reminds me so much of my own when I was her age… Although lives go in different directions, we are scattered, oceans between us, we are still thick, still bonded…
Much love!- xoxo
